Shanker while shooting ROBO train sequences he didn’t get the South Central Railways permission to shoot the fight sequence on train. That's how he got some time to relax himself and he went to watch movie (3 Idiots) in nearest Multiplex. Being in that tensed situation he laughed and cried with the movie. Then he decided to remake it for south Indian audience. After many probabilities he came with Vijay, Srikanth, Jiiva as 3 Idiots and Ileana as Female lead in the movie. Let's check out the review for more details.

Panchabhatla Saranga Paani (Vijay), Nikhil (Jiiva) & Venkat(Srikanth) are room mates in Ideal Engineering College which is being headed by Viroopaksha Sundaram alias Virus (Satyaraj). Nikhil always succumbs to pressure while Venkat's is forced to forego his passion for photography to fulfill his father's wishes. Paani is one who believes in following the heart & instills the same in his friends. Paani's unorthodox take on education & brilliance had made him rub shoulders with Virus & his colleague, Silencer (Satyan) in the wrong way. All this & more, forms the framework of this flick.

In the performance department, as Director said in the audio launch "Those who didn't like Vijay so far would also start liking him after this movie". Vijay given a matured performance, showed what he is capable off. Director was cent percent true about what he said. He was well supported by Jiiva and Srikanth with their best performances. Ileana is average in her role, but she was sizzling in songs. Sathyan as Silencer is uproarious. But both Ileana and Sathyan were not even close to Kareena and Omi Vidya performances in original flick. Satyaraj banged-up his character as virus.  Rest of the cast was good and well supported each other.

Director Shanker must be appreciated for his guts for accepting a movie which won’t come under his Genre. But he took it as a challenge added south Indian flavor to the movie which is good and entertaining. He did a fantastic job. Cinematography by Manoj Paramahamsa is mind-blowing but editing by Anthony was just okay, it could have been better. Songs by Harris Jayaraj is average. Even then i liked Ileana and Heart-u lo Battery tracks. Dialogues were to the point.

Dubbing by Hema Chandra for Vijay and Sunil for Silencer were perfect. It’s a big disappointment for those who like Shanker as an independent Film Maker. Point to Point copy of the original might not tune up to the Hype created. Run time of more than 170minutes feels a bit dragged. Songs missed the grand look capturing of Shankar’s standards.

When Director with Midas touch and 3 Idiots joined together, the expectations were sky high and movie didn’t disappoint much, though it’s a replica of original. Snehithudu has entertaining and emotionally good moments cherish for everyone. For those who watched the Original will feel it a deficient fare, and a REAL TREAT for first time viewers. Go for it, You wont get disappointed...
